Everyone once in a while, my travels will take me down south where it all began. As you’ve probably read somewhere on my socials before, I’m from Louisiana and grew up showing Brahman cattle. In the cattle world, you meet people from all over your state, and honestly all over the world. Which leads me to how I met Amanda.
I met Amanda through the livestock industry, and almost ten years later, she inquired about she and Alessio’s New Orleans, Louisiana wedding date next winter. Of course I was THRILLED to hear from her, and even more excited that she chose me of all the wonderful photographers local to the New Orleans area.
Amanda and Alessio wanted a laid back engagement session, and somewhere not in Louisiana so they could get away for a few days and make it a little vacation. We talked about possibly taking them in the mountains somewhere, the farm here in Dixon, or possibly the ranch I shot on in Texas before I moved to Illinois.
After scrolling through several galleries of mine, she decided on the ranch in Boling, TX. She and Alessio drove 7 hours west to Boling and had a little weekend getaway. They came out to the ranch and graced it with so much love and beauty.
We talked cattle, jobs, life, future plans, hurricanes, and everything in between. It was a joy to sit and talk with them more about their wedding planning, and all the exciting touches they have planned for their big day. Needless to say, I’m patiently counting down the days until December 2022 to take me back to my home state and photograph their winter wedding day!
